A non profit Foundation also an affiliation of the American Federation of Aviculture (AFA)
Our goals are: Develop an educational program for the Aviculturists banded together in order to assist their Veterinarians to save the life of a baby or bird in the Aviculturist managed Aviary.
An active aviculturist managing and breeding endangered and exotic birds we are responsible for making decisions for our exotic birds. As a member of Aviculture Microbiology Foundation, Inc., you and I can exercise this right.
Aviculturists who are willing to share, learn and teach with other Aviculturists clinical microbiology, bacteriology and sterilization to rule out disease and fungus in their Aviary. The information should not be considered to be completely error-free or to include all relevant information; nor should it be used as an exclusive basis for decision-making with your flock/birds. You are encouraged to consult other sources and confirm the information contained herein. We suggest strongly that you work with your qualified Avian Veterinarian and we do require a Veterinarian as your Sponsor and you must have a veterinarian you assist with the final diagnosis and treatment.
Use of the information is strictly voluntary and at the user's sole risk. If misleading or otherwise inappropriate information is brought to our attention, a reasonable effort will be made to correct or delete it. Debate is healthy, differences are accepted..flame or attempt to shame, put down another or blame will call for an immediate unsub. No Messages, Links, Files or Database can be forwarded or copied . This Foundation is to help our birds not hurt our Bird Community.

Rick Jordan- (Owner and Nursery Manager) A world renowned author and lecturer, Rick has written three full length titles on Psittacine (Parrot) Husbandry. His books are titled Parrot Incubation Procedures, Parrots:Hand-feeding and Nursery Management, and African Parrots. In addition to his books, Rick has written hundreds of articles, published in numerous scientific and pet-trade journals across the world, and has created a video on “Incubation and Hatching”. Currently he is working on two new books scheduled to be released in midyear 2002. Rick is the recipient of two U.S. First Breeding Awards from the American Federation of Aviculture, Inc. One for the Javan Moustached parakeet, and the other for the Crimson-bellied conure.
